The LPGA is teeing it up in the desert this week at Whirlwind Golf Club for the second edition of the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass. The field is jam-packed with the world’s top players, most notably defending champion Nelly Korda, 23-time LPGA Tour winner Lydia Ko and Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul, but also features 18 of this year’s rookies, including Japan’s Saki Baba, Epson Tour winner Ingrid Lindblad, Blue Bay LPGA champion Rio Takeda and Olympian Miyu Yamashita. Former Epson Tour member Gabby Barker and Mexico’s Maria Fassi are competing as sponsor exemptions and Jeongeun Lee5 and Jing Yan rounded out the field after earning a spot in this week’s tournament via the Monday qualifier.
